Question: Write a essay on Workplace Learning Environment. Answer: Learning is a continuous process, which is important for both the employees and their respective organizations (Siemens 2014). Learning is not only limited to academics but it has its wider aspects in organizational betterment as well. The learning culture is of utmost importance for an organization. This is because they try to incept newest technologies and strategies with the help of learning process only (Burke and Noumair 2015). Members of an organization representing from bottom to the top position need a continuous learning process, which is necessary for them for being competent. However, very few organizations know the importance of learning. This is why very few brands do reach to the top most positions. It is not denying the fact that learning alone can never make wonders. It needs supports of the leaders, the management and the stakeholders (Garca-Morales, Jimnez-Barrionuevo and Gutirrez-Gutirrez 2012). However, learning along with the strategic planning can collectively m ake an organization competent. The main purpose of this assignment is to understand the learning process. The paper tries to understand the ways to maintain a continuous learning process within the organization. A learning culture encourages its associates for a competitive spirit, which is important in the contemporary commercial world (Argote 2012). The globalization has integrated many organizations at one place. This has enhanced the level of competition in between different organizations such as competition between two Smartphone giants Samsung and Apple. Some companies have really responded to the created urgency whereas some are yet to consider. In other words, it can be concluded that a continuous learning process widens up the gap in between two giant competitors. Learning means incepting newest technologies strategies. It means learning on mistakes as well (Cummings and Worley 2014). This is perhaps very vital and decisive as well as learning on mistakes makes the learner stronger. It all means a learning culture persist in the organizational practices. It means as well that an organization should try to inhibit the learning culture within their organizational practices (Gebauer, Worch and Truffer 2012). A learning organization never lets anyone down. This is because it believes in learning on its mistakes (Sessa and London 2015). Samsung Company is a good example of such facts. Samsung Smartphones had no existence in the Smartphone sector. The industry was very well known with Blackberry and iPhone. However, the company never gave up. This is because of such facts they bounced back with a resonant response to iPhone. The company received high appreciation for its first of flagship model such as Samsung galaxy S1. Nevertheless, its Galaxy S3 had made record sales of unit ever (Forbes.com 2017). Since then the company is continually deploying new thoughts to get rid of the rising competition from some new competitors such as Lenovo, Xiomi etc. Samsung is perhaps one of such companies, which goes to any level in search of talents. According to the Forbes magazine, Samsung is very innovative and is becoming a formidable challenge to Google and Apple with its innovative thoughts. One of the major examples of their innovativeness is the use of TRIZ technology, which enables them for a systematic solving of problems. It is a methodology, which is continuously imparting success to the company. They are using this technology from ever since 2000. In addition to this, there are strict instructions to every members of the company to get familiar with the technology. Nevertheless, Samsung invest a very huge amount on the employees training development program. The technology has helped the company attain high success with its flagship handsets. The technology and their culture to learn have helped them earn high positions in the list of innovative companies. A never dying learning process within the organization has positioned it at the top most position (Forbes.com 2017). This simply tells the level of integration of the learning culture in the company. Learning organization is created with the help of leadership style that dictates the way to develop the learning culture within the organization (Argote 2012). The leadership style is of varied kinds such as supportive leadership, transactional leadership, transformational leadership etc. The different kinds of leadership style are suitable to different conditions. However, leadership style is the one potential asset of an organization that encourages the inception of learning culture within the organization. The learning culture can be maintained with the help of a sustained innovation as Samsung does it (Siemens 2014). A continuous innovative process helps members bind with the learning culture. The various new innovative thoughts and a continuous learning process to attain the requirements help to sustain a learning culture within the organization. Learning has become very essential for organizations in the contemporary business. This is because the competition is very high in between different brands. Nevertheless, the competition gap is widened up when one company uses the utmost learning capabilities. Today in the rapid changing demand of consumers, it is necessary for companies that they become highly competitive and innovative. Innovativeness indeed can never be achieved without a learning process (Garca-Morales, Jimnez-Barrionuevo and Gutirrez-Gutirrez 2012). The learning process in such instances thus actually makes things familiar to the different members in the organization. Samsung for example is deploying various new thoughts and innovative skills to be in competition. Moreover, competition is becoming large, which has no place companies with fewer competencies. This is for such reasons Samsung have kept on searching innovative ideas and technologies to give them an utter domination over others. Learning is very important in different organizations. Globalization has redefined the competition, which knows no boundary for learning. Learning has become a quintessential part of the organizational practices of the contemporary companies. Companies such as Samsung are continually engaged in deploying innovative thoughts to have an edge over its competitors. Learning is very necessary for organizations to be more competitive and to the employees to become more skilful. Learning in organizations is a life-long process that can only be kept preserved with the help of utmost leadership quality in different organizations across the globe. Nevertheless, learning process needs to be preserved within the organization, which is only possible if the leadership quality within the organization is progressive towards the attainment of competitive edge References Argote, L., 2012.Organizational learning: Creating, retaining and transferring knowledge.
