The Need to Stop Fracking - 616 Words
fracking is the process of getting natural gas from from shale rock deep into the ground. to get the natural gas we have to use a thing called horizontal drilling, horizontal drilling allows us to go deep into the ground and injected high pressure fracking fluids into the shale area and when they have the cracks in the ground for the oil to go through and they put sand to hold open the cracks and keep them open this is the process of fracking. Tell the recipient of your letter why you chose to share this information with them: I am writing to good morning america because a lot of people watch that show i believe that if someone hears this then they will want to put a stop to it because its a very popular show. these are some bad things about fracking .the chemicals they use for fracking sometimes get into peoples water and could cause us to get very ill..a lot of animals lose their homes because they have to cut down the forest trees where animals live. .fracking can cause a lot of traffic and noise from all the drilling and construction problems. fracking should stop because not only can it damage our forest, put chemicals in our water, and cause traffic and construction problems but it also pollutes our air which can kill us animals and plants. here are some good things .fracking creates a lot of jobs for people unemployed.fracking creates a big money boom for the people who are getting the drilling done on their land. fracking gives us our own oil instead of us gettingShow MoreRelatedBusiness, Sustainability And The Natural Environment1617 Words à |à 7 PagesNon-profit organizations look beyond institutional goals, and instead, try to find a shared vision that works for everyone in the society. Our society needs to stop consuming as if we have an infinite planet; we have to have integrity for the world we live in because the natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever. Companies need to evolve with the modern age and changing co nsumer market. For example, Netflix never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with theRead MoreWhy Fracking Is Not Be The Most Exciting Process1450 Words à |à 6 PagesFracking may not be the most exciting process to learn about nor is it something many people want to get involved in but it s much more important than any of those people think. Fracking is the process of extracting fossil fuels by shooting a liquid into the ground that contains known and unknown chemicals. Just reading the description of the process of fracking can be a little freaky for some people and rightfully so. If one major oil company such as Chevron Corporation made the decision to findRead MoreFracking : The Gas And Gas Industry940 Words à |à 4 PagesHydraulic fracturing, commonly known as fracking, is the process in which oil and gas deposits are extracted by pumping a tremendous amount of water and extremely hazardous chemicals into wells at very great depths. The biggest concern abo ut this process is the contamination of aquifers. And different sources of potable water due to the poor control over toxic wastes. In addition, fracturing requires millions of gallons of water per well. And, only in the U.S, fracking has been used more than one millionRead MoreFracking : Fracking And Fracking1524 Words à |à 7 Pages Hydraulic Fracturing Research Paper Hydraulic Fracturing (also commonly known as fracking) is a process used to extract natural gasses deep within the earth. This is done by drilling vertically into the ground until the desired depth; then drilling horizontally; and pumping millions of gallons of water, sand, and other chemicals into the drill at a high pressure to create fissures through which the gas can escape. Currently, hydraulic fracturing is extensively used in the United States in orderRead MoreThe Effects Of Fracking On The Environment1267 Words à |à 6 Pagesreferring to is that of hydraulic fracturing or otherwise known as fracking by most people. First let me explain what this process involves and how it works. Fracking involves using a 99.5% sand, water, and special chemical additive to help bore through rock to release the natural gas so it can be harvested (Loki (2015)). It is this process that has caused environmental concerns. While there are some pros and cons with this process we need to look both of them. Also, multiple scientists have started toRead MoreFracking Of The United States911 Words à |à 4 Pages101 8 September, 2015 Fracking in The United States Fracking is a term that is used as a shorthand term referring to hydraulic fracturing. This is a type of drilling used for oil and natural gas within the Earth. Fracking has been used commercially for the last 65 years in the U.S... With the new technology advances in the field along with advanced hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling is responsible for the U.S. surging in the oil and gas production. Fracking is allowing the U.S. toRead MoreFracking: Is It Really Damaging the Earth? Essay818 Words à |à 4 Pageswhere do we get our energy? Fracking is a method in which entities use in order to obtain natural gas, which furthermore can create heat for our homes and gas for our cars. This is a huge controversial topic that people seem to be very ambiguous about. The questions that arise with fracking are whether or not itââ¬â¢s better than green energy and is it harmful to the Earth. This constant need of energy requires our world to have a primary source for energy, so is fracking appropriate for this primaryRead MoreThe Invention Of Our Modern Day Fracking1299 Words à |à 6 Pagescase of any treatment polluting an aquifer ââ¬â not one.â⬠(ââ¬Å"Shooters-A Fracking Historyâ⬠). This statement may lead you to believe there is no need for concern, but there is a big pink elephant in the room. Arguments against these statements would prove futile, at a first gla nce, but understanding the true cost, to the environment and our safety could prove more valuable than the money earned. The beginnings of our modern day fracking process reside in a U.S. Patent No. 59,936, issued to a Col. EdwardRead MoreFracking Should Not Be Banned1526 Words à |à 7 PagesFracking is a pressurized, chemically treated mixture of water and sand used to release and extract natural gas and petroleum from shale rock. The process involves a well drilled vertically to the desired depth, then turns ninety degrees and continues horizontally for thousands of feet into the shale believed to contain the trapped natural gas. A mix of water, sand, and various chemicals are pumped into the well at high pressure in order to create fissures in the shale through which the gas can escapeRead MoreLaws 310 Course Project1187 Words à |à 5 PagesWaste Water 3 Air Quality Issues 3 Fracking Chemicals 3 State and Federal Laws 4 Federal Regulations 4 State Regulations 4 U.S. Energy Needs 5 Conclusion 5 Referrence Page 6 ââ¬Æ' Hydraulic Fracturing What is hydraulic fracturing or fracking, and is it safe for our environment?
